Midwest Industrial Energy Efficency Exchange
September 9-10 2009
Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center in Detroit, Michigan
Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is scheduled to speak at the Midwest Industrial Energy Efficiency Exchange. The Energy Efficiency Exchange hopes to facilitate and implement energy efficiency projects for the industrial sector. During this event, we spoke with those presenting available financial and technical resources from federal, regional, state, and non-governmental sources. The Exchange also provides a venue for those with resources to help lower regional industrial energy intensity and related carbon emissions. Industry is a vital component of the Midwest’s economy, as it accounts for 4 million jobs and 16 percent of the region’s Gross Domestic Product. It also accounts for 35 percent of regional energy consumption and 16 percent of carbon emissions.
